About Stitchart Design
With 40 years of embroidery expertise, Barutan Embroidery was founded by The Tan’s Family in the year of 1980 with our first operation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our mission is to be a trend-setter in the global embroidery industry.
From start, Barutan engaged with garment manufacturers to provide direct embroidery on garments. Our business then expanded to Southern Malaysia in year 1983, a subsidiary named Embroitex formed in Batu Pahat, Johor to penetrate the market of Singapore and Southern Malaysia. In year 1988, we further expanded to Northern Malaysia, Penang to capture market in Northern Malaysia.
We continued expanding our manufacturing capacity due to increasing demands. In year 1994, Barutan as a group has reached the record of housing 100 embroidery machines in all our manufacturing facilities in different parts of Malaysia.
Barutan further branched out to creative in-house design for iron-on patches in year 1996, followed by entering US market in 1998 and Europe market in 2000 with our own brand – Stitchart. Our clientele includes Disney, Hobby Lobby, Wright (supplied mainly to Walmart), colleges logo, haberdashery, craft and so on.

In year 2006, we had developed more than 8,000 in-house iron-on patches design, and the list continue to grow. As part of our mission to be a trend setter, we had on 2018 expand into kiosk business on top of our usual production of iron-on patches.
